The 2015 SAFPU Winter Tournament for out-of-contract player has come and it has gone. Seven official matches were played over a period of 2 days, with 8 teams taking part. The following are the new records that were set in this year’s tournament:

Tembisa Crowned 2015 SAFPU Winter Tournament Champions

The Tembisa based out-of-contract players were victorious at the end of the 2015 SAFPU Winter Tournament after a fine run. Led by former professional footballer, Victor Nhlapho, Tembisa won all of their three games, scoring 8 goals and keeping 2 clean sheets. They beat Soweto 2-1 in the Quarterfinals, thrashed Daveyton 4-0 in the Semi-finals and won the final against Katlehong by 2 goals to none.

The teamed claimed four individual awards at the end of the tournament: Coach of the Tournament, Goalkeeper of the Tournament, Defender of the Tournament and Top Goal scorer.

The two semi-finals games scheduled to play on the second of the 2015 SAFPU Winter Tournament kicked off – simultaneously – at 10:00AM on Saturday morning, 20 June 2015. The title final started at 15:00 on the same day.

A draw for the SAFPU Winter Tournament took place at the SAFPU offices on Wednesday morning, 17 June 2015. Two games will played from 10:00 on Friday, 19 June 2015, and two other games will be played from 13:00. Both semi-final games will be player on Saturday, 20 June 2015, from 10:00. At 13:00, a curtain raiser, a match between former footballers and current footballers, will be played before the final at 15:00.
