Acting President Tebogo Monyai was on NFD Show earlier tonight on SS4, “We saw a necessity for our players to be educated as many go from stable life to poor after playing football. That made us to introduce Bursary Scheme for all current and former players. Currently we have 78 players studying in different institutions all paid for by the Union. Players like Vuyo Mere, Mpho Marhupeng, Lerato Lamula, Trestern Coetzee, Mahlatsi Madubela and many more are studying. Recently we organised CAF/SAFA D-Lisence with the help of SAFA Development Agency and Coever Coaching headed by Steve Coetzee (SAFA Intsructor) where former players like Cyril Nzama, David Mkhadawera, Japie Motale, Phumodzo Manedzhe, Robert Modiadia, Thokazani Mnguni and junaid Harley attended.

We have partnered with Standard Bank SA to assist players with Financial Management, a project called Life after Football and many more. As a Union would love to see our players contributing positively to the society during playing time and after. Our contact details are (011) 339 1906 or twitter handle SAFPU_Official. We have a good working relationship as the Leadership and is the mixture of old and young with Deputy President Tshepo Ntsoane, General Secretary Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe, Deputy General Secretary Nhlanhla Tshabalala, Treasure Gordon Maseko and we also have Cape Town Office run by Brent Carelse with Mlunghisi Masinga running our Durban Office”
