The South African Football Players Union paid a visit to the South African men`s senior national team (Bafana-Bafana) ahead of their AFCON qualifiers match against Seychelles. Even though we didn’t have much to say on the day but we deemed it necessary to Rub shoulders with our senior National team and wish them well for the upcoming game as they are carrying the countries hopes and also to motivate them to fly the flag as high as possible with pride and determination.
Our presence was warmly received by the players who are also members of SAFPU and we also had a bit of time to inter-act with some of the officials as well as the players and they looked eager and sparkling for the match ahead. In the moments shared we also took pictures with the players after playing their friendly match against Supersport United FC at Megawatt Park in preparation for the qualifiers on the weekend.
We briefly gave them an update on the recent strides that the Union has made regarding Sports Tax which is an initiative that the players are very supportive of and want to see being realized. They made us extremely proud on the first leg with their magnificent display by thumping Seychelles 6-0 and on the 2nd leg away in Seychelles they played a goal less draw which was indeed not a true reflection of the game. The whole nation is behind them as they continue on the Journey of the AFCON Qualifiers which will be held in Cameroon in 2019 and we wish them all the best and they can rest assured that SAFPU is behind them every step of the way.
